  27.                 Modify the fields as desired (a detailed discussion of
  28.                 each option in this window is presented in "Print
  29.                 Configuration" in the Configuration section), and
  30.                 then press F10 to begin printing or Esc to exit the
  31.                 window.

  33.                 Any modifications you make in the Print Options window
  34.                 will be saved in memory until you exit PC-Type II.  The
  35.                 next time you enter this window, the last settings you
  36.                 made will still be there.

  57.       printing: When you press F10 in the Print Options window,
  58.                 printing will begin on the file you were editing prior
  59.                 to entering the window.  (If you are performing
  60.                 Mail-Merge, you will be asked to accept the selected
  61.                 records from the database and enter any keyin
  62.                 information before the printing of the document
  63.                 actually begins.)

  65.                 As each line is sent to the designated output device,
  66.                 it is also printed on your screen so you can monitor
  67.                 the progress.  The message line will also provide you
  68.                 with the percentage complete message:

  72.                 If you requested more than one copy of the file to be
  73.                 printed, the next copy will begin when the previous
  74.                 copy is finished and the above message will change
  75.                 accordingly.  Formfeeds will be issued as defined in
  76.                 the Print Options menu and PC-Type II will pause after
  77.                 each page is printed if you requested it to do so.

  79.                 If for some reason the output device cannot accept
  80.                 output as it is delivered, a message is displayed and
  81.                 you are given the option to cancel or to try to fix
  82.                 the problem and continue.  (A typical situation would
  83.                 be turning your printer "off line" while inserting a
  84.                 new sheet of paper and forgetting to turn it back "on
  85.                 line" before continuing.)

  87.                 When printing is completed, a window stating:

  113.         output: If you defined the "Global_(Beg)" escape code in the
  114.                 "Escape Code Definition" window, then this set of
  115.                 characters will be sent to the output first.  (This
  116.                 assumes, of course, that the "Printer Escape Codes"
  117.                 toggle in the Print Options menu is set to ON.)

  119.                 If the "Headers/Footers" option is turned ON, headers
  120.                 and footers will be printed at the beginning and end
  121.                 of each page as they were defined in Configuration or
  122.                 as new definitions are encountered in your text.

  124.                 If you selected double or triple spacing in the "TAB
  125.                 toggle options" menu, your text area will be printed
  126.                 accordingly.  Page markers and conditional page breaks
  127.                 are observed.  Special Lines are not printed, but
  128.                 their instructions to the printing process are
  129.                 followed.

  131.                 As print markers are encountered, they are sent to the
  132.                 output destination before or after the character on
  133.                 which they were placed depending upon whether their
  134.                 purpose was to turn an option ON or turn an option
  135.                 OFF. (This assumes again that the "Printer Escape
  136.                 Codes" toggle in the Print Options menu is set to ON.)

  138.                 Before each character in a header, footer, or text
  139.                 line is sent to the designated output device, it is
  140.                 translated into the corresponding character you
  141.                 defined in the "Printer Translation Table".  (See the
  142.                 Configuration section.)
